Jentilbaratza: "arista de Ataun" (260m, 5a)

Otra bonita arista de roca compacta, con poquísima aproximación y junto a una cantera en desuso.

Después del buen día que pasamos ayer, hoy toca uno de meteo regulera, con bastante viento y un frente de lluvia llegando a mediodía por el oeste.

Nuestra vía está equipada con parabolt en la parte derecha del sector, justo antes del pequeño bosquecillo. El resto de vías (a mano izquierda) son de químicos.

 

Música y comenzamos:

L1: pequeña panza al final del largo (diedro con 2 clavos muy dudosos, escalar por el espolón de la derecha que tiene parabolt, 5a). 

"And when the dawn breaks I see my fellow man

Try to remember peace"

 

L2, inicio en travesía a izquierdas para luego escalar unas sencillas placas tumbadas.

Final del L2. Junto a la carretera se ve el apartadero donde hemos dejado el coche. También se puede aparcar junto a la casa blanca.

L3, largo de transición que se sube prácticamente andando.

L4, montarse en un bonito canalizo tumbado (2 parabolts) para luego escalar una placa compacta que queda a mano izquierda (otros dos parabolts alejados).

To show how the west was won
But when the curtain falls, I pray for peace
Try to remember peace"

 

L5, aquí ya empieza a molestar el viento y caen algunas gotas. Placa tumbada para llegar a una bonita fisura/chimenea que ya será 5a.

L6, larga arista de resaltes y grandes repisas donde se puede meter algún friend puntual.

Banderas en la cima. El Castillo de Jentilbaratza defendía el Reino de Navarra....y Palestina no tiene a nadie que la defienda.

Bajamos a mano izquierda por unas cuerdas fijas ancladas a los árboles. Terreno bastante tieso, mejor con casco.

Un corto destrepe (sin cuerda fija) nos deja al nivel de la cantera y ya muy cerca del coche. La arista nos ha gustado, no es tan buena como la de Urrestei pero también está chula. Nosotros usamos algún friend puntual y prescindible en L1 y L5.
